Serqet - big brother to Scorpio

Announcing Serqet - a version of Scorpio with a suite of applications to make setting up a system easier.

Serqet has a custom set of wallpapers, lightdm login screen and Openbox theme.  The OB root menu has been revised.

Added applications include

• Libreoffice - writer, calc, impress, draw and formula
• Gimp - with plugin suite
• Gtkam
• Dropbox installer
• Icedove
• Transmission
• Xchat
• Clementine
• VLC
• Mirage replaces Geeqie

Along with Chromium, Gcolor2, Juffed, Wicd, ePDFViewer, XFburn, and a number of system tools this creates a well rounded OS that can be used out of the box.  Anything else that is needed can be installed through apt-get - even Synaptic!

Serqet, by the way, was the Egyptian goddess who tamed the Scorpion!

Thank you.  It's sort of an amalgam of spins, ideas and themes I've been working on for a while.  I keep coming back to the simplicity of Scorpio - now was the time to set it up as a proper little distro - Openbox : Out of the Box !!

I also have plenty ideas. I'm in the middle of a mess with the domain names and future subdomains... well it takes shape anyhow, soon "linuxvillage.org" at Tuxfamily will not be available anymore, but the one mentioned now in the news at the top right page of the forum, http://linuxvillage.legtux.org is available, has a look which starts to change a bit, and next it will be again "linuxvillage.org" but at legtux.org.

And then one or several subsites to present all these versions at their best! Almost there.

I can suggest a few:

"http://linuxvillage.org ; http://linuxvillage.net ; http://forum.linuxvillage.net". As I said above, "http://linuxvillage.org" will soon be again replacing "http://linuxvillage.legtux.org", maybe within 24 hours if all works as expected.

In the future anyhow the main site will have tabs, and sub menus if needed, to point to all useful links.
