My profile for this forum seems to be http://linuxvillage.net/index.php?action=profile;u=214 (http://linuxvillage.net/index.php?action=profile;u=214) but it requires people to log in to see it and what I've posted here.

I prefer it when all this information is public, such as on http://stackoverflow.com/users/19464/philip-durbin (http://stackoverflow.com/users/19464/philip-durbin) where people can see who I am, what I've asked and answered, even my favorites and activities.

Is there a way I can make my profile on this forum public? At least I would like people to be able to browse to the URL above and see my profile and click on links to posts I've made here. I did look around for this but didn't find anything quickly. Thanks.

				Hi,

I agree with this as long as I don't have to make everybodie's profile public by default. This is not a native feature, we need a MOD for that. You could help me find one, and when found I will install it. Please look at the list of MOD's available to tweak profiles, here: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;type=10 (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;type=10)

				Hi,
Yoshi2889, from the SMF community, who I often meet at the #smf IRC channel, has nicely offered to write a MOD to add this feature. It is now done, has for name PrivateProfile, he tested in his forum, I installed it here : it is now available in each one's profile, in the account area: http://linuxvillage.net/index.php?action=profile;area=account (http://linuxvillage.net/index.php?action=profile;area=account)

you will find this additional line:
"Allow guests to view my profile" and you can decide to tick this choice if you want to.

 Thank you Yoshi2889!

pdurbin, I think you might now add this at the end of your topic, first post : (Solved)
