Titre: Scorpio RC4 - obsession - languages
Posté par: melodie le 03 mars 2013 à 16:18:30
Hi,

I can't take the time right now to install Village RC2, so I want to work on the configuration files with the install I already have, which is up to date, and was changed to French after I installed it. Well after this update, I again find menus in English about everywhere, and I re-re configured checked and reinstalled, checked the files "environment" and "locale"...

What else ? I compiled obsession, and got all in French except one entry which is "Cancel" and should be "Annuler", in French.

You can install obsession for Debian testing this way : get the tarball here:
http://meets.free.fr/debian/obsession-debian.tar.xz (http://meets.free.fr/debian/obsession-debian.tar.xz)

as root move it to / and untar:
tar xvfJ obsession-debian.tar.xz
remove the tarball.

All the files will be installed directly to /usr/local in the relevant subdirectories, then you can test it.

PS: could you check that upower is installed in all Debian spins ? In Scorpio it was not. I would also be nice to get all base alsa packages (not just 2): alsa-tools, alsa-oss, alsa-utils, plus a mixer (even alsamixer-gui with libfltk would be better than none).

The link for obsession is broken.  Where can I found obsession so I can trial it in a new mix.

DebLXDE only has alsa-base and alsa-utils installed. I can understand the need for alsa-oss (oss wrapper). But, why alsa-tools?

My bad, alsa-tools is not needed. It would just add entries in the menus for tools everybody doesn't have.

There's a libasound-equal-plugin (close guess as to name)  in the
Debian repo that has an equalizer which pops up in alsamixer
very nicely.    I have the two config files if any interest.

Works with anything alsa like flash player on shoutcast etc..
