Titre: Firewall
Posté par: patrick013 le 05 avril 2013 à 06:13:25
Knowing that Debian doesn't come with SELinux or msec working,
it should at least have a Firewall.    Why not.

Is the below OK or have I overlooked a better one ?

firestarter, a GNOME application oriented towards end-users that includes a wizard useful to quickly setup firewall rules. The application includes a GUI to be able to monitor when a firewall rule blocks traffic.

The default Debian installation comes with the program iptables configured to allow all traffic.  There are lots of frontends as this Debian Firewall page (http://wiki.debian.org/Firewalls) shows.  It's a bit out of date but it gives some idea of what is available.  On checking apt-get the list mostly still seems current.

I've never actually used firewalls as I find it all gets a bit clunky - never had any issues though.
